Defining Works of the Mexican Silver Renaissance

Taxco became one of the great laboratories of twentieth-century design. Its artists transformed ancient Mexican forms, modernist ideas, and centuries of metalworking knowledge into a new language, written in silver.

Masterworks brings together the objects that best define that achievement: works of exceptional originality, influence, technical ambition, and artistic force.

These are the works that show Taxco’s place in the history of modern art and design.
