Cornflower Clamper Cuff

The Cornflower Clamper Cuff shows Margot de Taxco's botanical vocabulary at its most sculptural. Instead of a conventional continuous bracelet, the cuff is built as a bypass form: two oversized flower heads overlap around the wrist, turning the opening of the bracelet into the center of the design. Each blossom is raised in repoussé, with clustered silver beads forming dense, seed-like centers and ribbed petals chased outward across the curved band.

The piece is especially strong because it relies on silver alone. Margot is best known for vitreous enamel, but this cuff gets its drama from relief, shadow, and surface work: darkened recesses between petals, polished high points on the ribs, and the granular texture of the flower centers against the smooth interior of the cuff. The result is floral without being delicate, closer to wearable sculpture than ornament.

As a cornflower or sunflower clamper cuff, the design belongs to Margot's Art Nouveau-inflected language of curling botanical forms, but it also shows the Taxco workshop's command of hand-raised metal. The bracelet rewards close looking because its identity is in the construction: overlapping flower heads, seeded centers, repoussé petals, and the architectural curve of the cuff itself.
