Curatorial note

This small silver pitcher, which Spratling described as a cream pitcher, carries an oversized lip and a large curved handle finished with applied silver discs where it meets the body. The discs are both structural and decorative, masking the join while echoing the workshop's recurring use of the silver circle.

It is documented in a single source, listed only in a 1961 Spratling catalog, which fixes the design to the later years of the workshop's production but tells us little more.

With no scholarly reference recorded and only one catalog appearance, the cream pitcher is a narrowly documented form.
