A salad-server spoon with its neck wrapped in silver wire and a silver ball at the base of the handle - the wrapped-wire binding drawing on the cord and saddle ornament Spratling cited among his early sources (Morrill, p. 39). The pattern was made in full place settings, marking it as a complete service design.
The wire-wrapped neck and terminal ball are the workshop's recurring vocabulary carried into flatware, decoration arising from construction rather than applied to it.
The design has been reissued. The spoon is recorded in Cederwall and Riney's Spratling Silver and in Goddard's field guide.
