Ebony Ball Pepper Shaker

A pepper shaker of ebony, banded with three rows of three vertical silver balls - the dark wood gridded by the workshop's recurring silver beadwork, the balls arranged in a deliberate three-by-three pattern. Part of a set, it pairs with a matching shaker rather than standing alone.

The ebony against silver follows the material contrast Morrill ties to Spratling's affinity for Puiforcat (p. 224). It is documented through the catalogues, with a 1967 price of $15.60.

The design has been reissued. The shaker is recorded in Cederwall and Riney's Spratling Silver, its Centennial Edition, and Goddard's field guide.
