A smaller version of Spratling's rounded creamer and sugar, fitted with round rosewood handles, this set scales the workshop's table service for more intimate use. The pairing of bright silver with warm rosewood is the material contrast Spratling cultivated in his domestic pieces, the warmth-against-reflection Morrill links to Jean Puiforcat (Morrill, p. 224).
The set belongs to the first design period, 1931-1946, when the workshop established the hollowware forms that defined its table silver.
