Curatorial note

Azur malachite, banded in its natural matrix, is set into a silver cuff here so that the blue-green mineral becomes the bracelet's chief event, the metal framing rather than competing with the stone. The piece dates to the Second Design Period of 1949 to 1951.

The use of richly colored native stone set against silver was a direction the workshop explored across pins, necklaces, and bracelets in these years. This cuff is recorded in Morrill's Maestros de Plata study, marking it as a documented example of that material vocabulary.

For collectors, the appeal rests on the matrix of the azur malachite, the Second Period attribution, and the place in the published literature, which together anchor the piece as a recognized Spratling form.
